Cathleen Kenny Named Pratt Institute’s Vice President for Finance and Administration

May 2015 — Cathleen Kenny will assume the role of Vice President for Finance and Administration on July 1, 2015 at Pratt Institute, one of the nation’s most respected and highly ranked art and design schools.

Reporting directly to the President, Kenny will provide strategic leadership in finance and accounting, budget, human resources, security, and campus facilities. She will also serve as a liaison between the Institute and the finance committee and treasurer of the board of trustees.

“Cathy has a thorough understanding of the financial aspects of higher education and has had extensive experience in her various roles working closely with all campus groups, including academic leaders and faculty members,” said Pratt Institute President Thomas F. Schutte. “I am confident that Cathy’s enthusiasm and thoughtful, collaborative leadership style will enable our community to continue to work together in the interest of moving the Institute forward.”

Kenny brings to Pratt nearly 24 years of experience in higher education. She currently serves as the Vice President for Finance and Administration at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, NY. She also has held posts as Vice President for Fiscal Affairs at Dominican College, Chief of Fiscal Services at the Anderson Center for Autism, and as Controller at Mount Saint Mary College. She has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Pace University and a master’s degree in administration from Marist College.
